The Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show is a key Niagara Falls tourism destination and is an exciting part of Niagara Falls history.
History
It all began in Niagara Falls, Ontario...

The Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show is the brainchild of Niagara travel industry entrepreneurs Jim Cooper and Ross Robinson. Both well traveled & well entertained during their time in the industry, they felt they had a good sense of what people enjoy during a comfortable evening out with friends and associates. They selected the newly renovated Pyramid Place in Niagara Falls, Ontario for their entry into the Canadiana Dinner Show business.

Many years of worldwide wanderings, and many evenings spent in restaurants of all atmospheres, themes, and qualities, led Cooper and Robinson to believe that when in Canada, people would love Canadiana and anything to do with Canadian culture. The music, scenes, foods and drinks of each of the world's nations are to some extent unique and Canadians have every reason to be proud of what Canada has to offer.

Research showed that there was no really Canadian entertainment experience offered and that the permanent and tourist populations of the Niagara Falls, Ontario region would support such a Dinner Show. "Let us celebrate Canada and invite the world to join us," said Cooper. "We'll wave the flag and sing about Oh Canada, eh?" Robinson enthused.

A business plan was finalized, Canadian music was researched, auditions were held, and a former movie theatre/office was transformed into a first class restaurant and showroom. With pride and confidence the Oh Canada Eh? DInner Show offered a totally unique evening of Canadian food and entertainment.

Since opening in May 1994 Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show has been voted "Attraction of the Year" in 1994, 1995, 1999, 2000, 2002 & 2003, and has presented more than 2600 performances. The cast has performed in Atlanta (sponsored by the Canadian Embassy) and has also been "on the road" to Cleveland, Toronto, Buffalo and various other cities, including West Palm Beach, Florida at the South Florida Fair. Cast members have gone to England to sing at the Canada Travel Showcase and to Nashville, Tennessee to perform at the Opryland Hotel for the American Bus Association. The travels of the cast had taken them further than most had imagined and the show's newest chapter would take them travelling again.

Almost 3000km away in the Canadian Rockies tourist town of Canmore, Alberta, an entrepreneur was looking to create a Canadian experience for locals and tourists alike. After traveling to Hawaii, he noted the great detail put into presenting the Hawaiian culture at a luau one evening and thought, "Why doesn't Canada have something like this?!" In the summer of 2001 this entrepreneur, Vijay Domingo, met the two men who would make this Canadian dream a reality. They formalized a union and on May 10, 2002 opened the second location of the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show franchise in the Canadian Rockies.

Many talented people have worked long hours to present over 3100 performances of the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show. Well over 490,000 guests from all over the world have enjoyed their time, and the cast and crew look forward to doing it each and every night. Canada, as is said in the show, sure is something to sing about!
